It’s that time of year again. Graduation is nearing, and prom will be here before you know it. Girls are trying on dresses, and guys are eyeing which tuxedoes they’ll be sporting for their high school’s main event. In short: if you’re a parent of a high school junior or senior, you have a lot going on right now.
We thought we’d help make at least one thing on your long to-do list a little easier: renting a limo for prom. We’ve compiled our top three tips for choosing a Seattle limo company, in addition to important questions you should be asking.
Tip #1: Limo Service for Prom Is Not Always About Price
Here’s the truth: As with most things in life, you get what you pay for, and a limo for your prom is no different. In other words, while price should definitely be a consideration, so should customer service. After all, you deserve the best for your hard-earned money.
So here’s a suggestion: To get a good feel of what you can expect, call a limo company that you’re thinking about hiring for prom and ask them the questions below. Their willingness to provide answers, their level of patience, and their tone of voice can speak volumes about the emphasis they place on serving their customers:
- What do other customers have to say about your services?
- How long have you been in business?
- What’s your track record for timeliness?
- What’s your fleet like?
- How easy is it to book a limo for prom?
- Are there any fuel surcharges not included in the basic price? Is a tip recommended, or is it included in the final price?
During this time of year, be wary of ultra-low rates advertised online or elsewhere, because it’s often the case that these are just “teaser” rates, which will drastically increase by the time you go to sign your contract. Keep in mind the old adage, “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is,” applies just as much to prom limos as it does to anything else.

Tip #2: Choose the Limo that’s Right for You
Once you understand more about what your budget—and your Seattle limo company— can provide, it’s time to pick a limo that matches both your financial needs, as well as your social ones. Here are some important questions you need to know the answer to:
- How many passengers will be present?
- Do you need additional services such as ice and beverages? (keep in mind that Starline adheres to a strict no-tolerance policy when it comes to minors and alcohol)
- Are there any special services that your guests need, such as handicapped access?
- Are you planning on listening to music on the way to and from prom, or just hanging out (many limousines feature specialized sound and/or lighting systems)?

“Starline Limo Service is the best. They made sure the limousine we wanted was available, clean and safe. As a nervous parent putting 10 kids into one car is rather nerve wrecking, Starline delivered top notch service for prom. Thank you to the staff and drivers.”

Tip #3: Make Your Prom Limo Reservation Early
This one might seem like a no-brainer, but you’d be amazed at how many parents call us a couple nights before prom, frantic that they can’t find an available limousine anywhere in the Seattle area. Because of this, we felt it’s important to mention in here.
All Seattle area proms generally occur within 2-4 weeks of one another, which means that limo providers can often be booked months in advance. In other words, there is a lot of competition for reputable limo providers during prom time, and unless you want a bottom-of-the-barrel provider, book your reservation soon.
Once you’ve made your reservation, we’ll immediately send you an email confirmation, so you’ll know right away that your spot is secure. If you need a copy of your contract (or any other documents such as a copy of our cancellation policy), we’ll be happy to provide these as well.
How can Starline Town Car & Limousine help make your Seattle prom even better? Give us a call today at (206) 261-1191, and we’ll be happy to show you. Even better, book your Express online reservation now!
