Whenever we pick someone up from Sea-Tac who’s never been to Seattle before, we love watching their reactions when downtown comes into view as we cruise along Interstate 5, or seeing their jaws drop as they snap a few great pics from Kerry Park.
The fact is, at Starline, we’re proud to call Seattle home, and we’re always looking for opportunities to show it off. And from your perspective, what better way for you to see the Emerald City than in the seat of luxury?
But enough about us; let’s talk about Seattle.
See the Best of Seattle with Starline
When you’re as passionate about Seattle as we are, it’s downright difficult to narrow our list of favorite places down to just a few. But if there’s one thing we’ve learned during our 10 years in business, it’s that first-time visitors to our great city want the full Pacific Northwest experience—no hassles, and no fuss, which is precisely what we specialize in.
With that said, our top five destinations in Seattle (in no particular order) are…
Pike Place Market
With its trademark “Public Market” neon sign, reputation for the freshest of foods, and home to the original Starbucks (not to mention all the fish throwing), Seattle’s Pike Place Market is the “must visit” attraction in the city. But why? Nowhere else in the city will you be so surrounded by the sights, sounds, and smells, that embody this city, while also strolling around at a leisurely pace. There’s a whole lot to see, so when you need to take a break, make sure to visit one of the great restaurants!
Downtown Waterfront
Take a very short walk south of Pike Place Market and you’ll find Seattle’s gorgeous waterfront. Enjoy wide sidewalks, a variety of eateries, and beautiful waterfront scenery. While you’re there, why not visit the Seattle Aquarium, or take a ride on the Seattle Great Wheel? Whatever you decide, one thing’s for certain: You’ll have a blast!
Space Needle
Equal only to Pike Place Market as far as instant recognizability, the Space Needle has stood over downtown Seattle since 1962, when it was actually the tallest structure west of the Mississippi. Take in sweeping vistas of Puget Sound, downtown Seattle, and even Mount Rainier on clear days (which is more than 80 miles away!).
If you have a little extra time, be sure to take the Monorail to or from the Space Needle. It’s a fairly short ride, but well worth the experience!
Ferries
One great thing about Seattle is that we’re surrounded by water. And our inlet to the Pacific Ocean, known as Puget Sound, is filled with islands big and small. From downtown Seattle, you can take a short, pleasurable ferry ride to Bainbridge Island and Bremerton, where all sorts of new wonders await.
Seattle Museum of Flight
Going back as far as 1908, Seattle has a long history with flight, not to mention being one of the current homes to Boeing Corporation. So the last—but certainly not least—top Seattle destination is the Museum of Flight. Inside, you’ll find more than 150 aircrafts and artifacts from all eras, including from WWI and WWII, not to mention the great temporary exhibits. This is a great attraction for kids of all ages!
